Our project in Santa Cruz Balanyá, Chimaltenango

Our Mission

Messengers of Hope is organized for the purposes of providing relief to the poor, specifically orphans and widows, by providing education for the underprivileged children in Latin America, due to chronic unemployment and underemployment and basic preventive health care; vitamins, hygiene products, toiletries, etc.  These children and their families have a hope of building a life in their own country, which may deter illegal immigration from Latin America to the United States of America.

Our Beginning

Our family felt a calling to support widows and children in Guatemala. We each began to support orphans by paying for their education ourselves, in an attempt to break the cycle of poverty. We began to see a great need for sponsorship among the orphans and widows that exceeded what we could handle ourselves. We asked for prayer from our church and wonderful people began to ask us questions about why we were donating and soon we were being asked by others if they could help. Soon, it was put upon our heart to help these children by beginning a non-profit organization that would seek to help them.

By being a non-profit organization, sponsors can deduct their donations from their taxes.

We stand with the broken...

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress" (James 1:27a).
